Founding Story
The Offering Ground has roots many years in the making, shaped by healing, relationship with the Earth, and wisdom carried across generations and cultures.
The Offering Ground grew from a vision of creating a place where ancestral and nature-based wisdom can be practiced, shared, and carried forward. At a time when many of us are being called to remember our relationship with the living Earth, with one another, and with the deeper wisdom that connects us, we need places where this remembering can take root and become a way of living.
From this came a question: How can we create places where wisdom is not only remembered, but lived, practiced, and carried forward in meaningful ways?
The answer has been a path many years in the making, shaped by learning across cultures and traditions and by a growing understanding that healing, wisdom, community, and our relationship with the living Earth cannot be separated from one another.
Eventually, that vision found ground at The Land Known as Buckhorn Springs in Southern Oregon.
For generations, people have come to this land for its waters, forests, mineral springs, and places of gathering and healing. Today, The Offering Ground makes its home here, caring for the land while creating a place where people can gather, learn, practice, heal, and reconnect.
The Offering Ground was founded to bring these threads together: ancestral and nature-based wisdom, contemporary healing practices, conscious stewardship of land, and the simple but increasingly important act of gathering in relationship.
We believe wisdom is kept alive through practice. Land is cared for through relationship. Healing deepens in community. And what we receive asks something of us in return.
The Offering Ground is a response to that call: a place to receive, to remember, to practice, and to give back.
